My name is Verne Underwood, and though I'm a college English instructor by profession, I'm a thirsty and curious wine drinker by avocation. I've been drinking wine, reading about wine, and traveling through wine regions for much of my adult life, and so it seemed natural to move further and start writing about wine.

I cannot claim to be a wine expert, though I've read much about wine history, wine regions, and winemaking. And in terms of sheer volume,
I think I drink enough wine to make me an expert (or an alcoholic).
But the one label I'm sure of is a wine enthusiast (not to be confused with the magazine), and this is my blog. All the photos and articles on this site are my own. If the photos are grainy or the articles badly written, that's somebody else's fault.
